2014 Severne Freek 4.4 m2

US14 vass

The  2014 severne Freek 4.4 m2 used  windsurfing sail in Good condition is for freestyle and freestyle wave use.

In 2012 the S-I was the world's lightest and most capable freestyle/wave sail.  Severne have taken the best characteristics of the S-I and uncompromized the performance by creating a dedicated freestyle sail. The FREEK.

During the original FREEK freestyle era, it was all about planing early with deep, powerful profiles and high tensioned leeches. As freestyle evolved, riders started to perform in stronger winds and preferred the S-1 for freestyle due to its lightweight, instant response and manoeuvre orientated geometry.
The latest evolution of freestyle has seen explosive, powerful moves where ducking stability and extreme lift are necessary sail characteristics. The need for a different freestyle sail is back. Return of the FREEK.

Dedicated freestylers will rig the sail with less downhaul for a tighter head resulting in maximum lift.

Freestyle wave riders may use more downhaul for more control in a wider range of conditions.

A web of fibreglass filament that disburses loads across seams and throughout the body of the sail.  By using stronger, lighter fibres and reducing sail patching,
Severne can measurably reduce weight and swing weight and at the same time, increase strength.

The toughest material used in SEVERNE sails!

The ‘Twisted-Fibre’ technology is utilised for maximum tear resistance. Large denier Dyneema fibres are twisted with polyester fibres for unparalleled strength without fibre creep. Tighter fibre spacing and thicker 5mm film add to the durability and the white UV protection ensures longevity. This is particullarly used in foot panels for bombproof durability!

Symmetrically weighted batten pockets are stitched on alternate sides rather than on just one side to keep the sail neutrally balanced.

Windsurfing Features

  • Stable + balanced for ducking
  • Progressive power delivery with a softer rotation
  • tunable for freestyle and freestyle wave
